What is this about. The Corporations are making money out of us using the land belonging to the people. Where is our cut on this.
Acknowledgement of your OIA request (OC260768)

I refer to your Official Information Act request below and attached, partially transferred from the Treasury to the Ministry for Cities, Environment, Regions, and Transport (the Ministry) on 14 September 2026, seeking:
“5. Reciprocal value capture OC260440 disclosed work concerning value-capture mechanisms where public transport investment increases private land value. Please provide any records considering the converse position: where land contributed to the road network creates ongoing economic value for the transport system, whether any part of that value should be recognised, attributed or returned to the persons or interests from whom the land derived. If no such analysis exists, please confirm that no responsive record was located.
5. Reciprocal value-capture analysis
OC260440 disclosed policy work considering value-capture mechanisms where transport infrastructure increases private land value. Please provide any records considering the converse question: whether value contributed to the transport system by land acquired, dedicated, taken, transferred, or vested for road purposes should be recognised, accounted for, compensated, or otherwise attributed to the persons or interests from whom that land derived. If no such analysis has been undertaken, please confirm that no responsive record was located.”
We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as practicable, and in any event no later than 12 October 2026, being 20 working days after the day your request was received. If we are unable to respond to your request by then, we will notify you of an extension of that timeframe.
The Ministry intends to publish Official Information Act responses on our website when there may be wider interest in the information released. This means the information provided to you might be published after you have received it.
