Corruption in New Zealand.

It seems logic has disappeared and we are allowing corruption…..and we are about to vote in another 3 years of people we can’t get rid of , get rid of one lot the the next lot are worse !!

AT WHAT POINT DO WE ADMIT THAT SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH GOVERNMENT IN NEW ZEALAND?
There comes a stage where this stops being about one minister, one council, one department or one political party.
Everywhere you look there seems to be another failure, another cost blowout, another scandal, another review, another excuse — while ordinary New Zealanders keep paying the bill.
And eventually you have to ask: who in government can we actually trust to put the public first?
There are undoubtedly good people inside the system, but increasingly it feels as though they are the exception rather than the rule.
MAYBE IT WILL TAKE A MASS MOVEMENT
Maybe we ought to do what we have seen in the UK, France and Spain — take to the streets peacefully in our hundreds of thousands, even our millions, and demand better.
All races.
All ages.
All political backgrounds.
Because at some stage we need to realise that while ordinary people are kept divided and fighting with each other, the people in power face less pressure over the failures, waste, secrecy and lack of accountability happening around us.
That division suits the system.
If we are constantly arguing among ourselves, then we are not standing together and demanding answers.
So maybe the answer is not more division.
Maybe it is unity.
A peaceful democratic movement saying:
ENOUGH.
We want transparency.
We want accountability.
We want competent government.
We want our money protected.
We want institutions that actually work for the people who fund them.
And most importantly, we need to remember something politicians sometimes appear to forget:
WE PAY THEM.
We pay their salaries.
We fund Parliament.
We fund the ministries.
We fund the councils.
We fund the agencies.
We fund the entire machinery of government.
They are supposed to work for us.
Not the other way around.
AND WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO VOTE FOR?
Perhaps the saddest part is approaching another election and looking across the political landscape without finding a single party you can comfortably and conscientiously put your faith in.
That should disturb every New Zealander, regardless of whether they normally vote left, right or somewhere in between.
Democracy depends on people believing there is a credible choice.
When voters reach the point where they are no longer asking “Who deserves my vote?” but instead “Who is the least bad option?”, something has gone seriously wrong.
New Zealand deserves better than choosing between varying degrees of disappointment.
We should be able to expect competence, integrity, transparency and genuine accountability from the people entrusted with running our country.
And maybe the most important thing of all is this:
STOP LETTING THEM DIVIDE US.
Because whatever our race, age, background or political beliefs, most ordinary New Zealanders want the same basic things — safety, functioning public services, fair treatment, responsible spending and a government that actually listens.
IT IS NOT THEIR COUNTRY. IT IS OURS.
And perhaps the message eventually has to come from the public itself:
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. UNITE. DEMAND BETTER. FIX THE SYSTEM — NOT JUST THE PEOPLE SITTING AT THE TOP OF IT
