Rangitikei District Council Public Review Notice

PUBLIC NOTICE
Proposed Public Evidence Review / Community Enquiry into Rangitikei District Council
Notice is hereby given that a public evidence review is proposed in relation to matters
concerning Rangitikei District Council.

The purpose of the review is to gather information, receive public submissions, examine
relevant Council decisions and processes, and prepare a factual report with
recommendations for further action where appropriate.

This review is intended to provide residents, ratepayers, affected parties, elected
members, staff, former staff, community organisations, and other interested persons
with an opportunity to place relevant information on record.

Purpose of the review
The proposed review will seek to:
– Establish a clear factual timeline of the matters under concern.

interest, public consultation, information disclosure, or decision-making.
– Receive evidence from members of the public and affected parties.
– Prepare recommendations aimed at improving governance, transparency, and public
confidence.

Important clarification
This is a proposed community-led public evidence review. It is not an official public
inquiry established by the Governor-General or by Ministers under the Inquiries Act
2013 unless and until such formal authority is granted.
The review will therefore proceed as an evidence-gathering and accountability process,
using public submissions, available records, official information requests, and
community testimony.
