Something Is Seriously Wrong — And People Need To See This 🔥
I need to say something publicly, because what’s happening right now in New Zealand should worry every single person who believes in transparency.
For months, I’ve had two Official Information Act complaints sitting with the Ombudsman.
No progress.
No updates.
No communication.
Just silence.
And now I have five more cases — each one backed by clear, documented failures by government agencies — all ready to escalate next.
That’s seven separate cases showing the same pattern:

This isn’t a delay.
This isn’t a backlog.
This is a system that has stopped functioning.
The OIA is supposed to be the public’s right to know.
The Ombudsman is supposed to be the safeguard when agencies fail.
But what happens when the safeguard fails too?
What happens when the watchdog goes silent?
What happens when transparency collapses?
Because that’s what this looks like.
When you can prove — in writing — that agencies have breached the law, and the oversight body still can’t move a single case forward for months… that’s not an administrative issue.
That’s a systemic failure.
And if the transparency system fails, the public loses the ability to hold anyone accountable.
I’m putting this on record because people deserve to know what’s happening — not the polished version, but the real one.
This weekend, I’ll be escalating all remaining cases.
I’ll publish every step.
And I’ll keep documenting the failures publicly.
Because if we don’t shine a light on this, nobody will.
If you think transparency matters, share this.
People need to see what’s happening behind the curtain
