Response – Pension Entitlement and Administrative Failure

 

Please find attached a letter from Michael Clark dated 5 March 2026 regarding his pension entitlement and the administrative issues arising from the documents delivered to the Queenstown Work and Income office on 31 October 2025.

 

As outlined in the attached correspondence, those documents were physically delivered to the office and accepted at the counter, and an Affidavit of Service confirming delivery has been completed. It is therefore concerning that the Ministry has indicated it is unable to locate them.

 

The attached letter sets out the issues arising from this administrative failure and requests clarification regarding the current status of the pension entitlement, commencement of payment, and the steps being taken to address the loss of the documents.
