Police Stop – Step 1: 105 Record (Easy Read + Templates)

EASYREAD – WHAT TO DO

This document shows how to calmly record what Police did.

It is not a complaint, defence, or argument.

DO THIS IN ORDER

1. Write basics: date, time, place, police numbers.
2. Send the same basics to the Debt Accumulation Office (DAO).
3. Receive a DAO reference number.
4. File the 105 using the template below and insert the DAO reference.
5. Save all reference numbers.

ONLY WRITE THIS

– Date, time, location

– Police officer names or numbers (if visible)

– What Police did after being told to contact the Attorney

DO NOT WRITE THIS

– Speed, signs, licences, WOF/rego

– NZTA or NCT

– Stickers or symbols

– Feelings, opinions, explanations

IF YOU RECORDED

Note that a photo/video/audio recording exists, with date, time, and device.

Do not describe contents or submit it yet.

IF THERE WERE WITNESSES

Note that witnesses exist.

Do not name them in the 105. Keep details privately.

I informed the officer(s) that all matters relating to me and the vehicle are administered through a Private Trust and that Police were required to communicate only with the Attorney’s Office.

The officer(s) stated that they would not recognise the Private Trust or the Attorney and continued to engage with me directly.

Despite being directed to the Attorney’s Office, the officer(s) continued questioning and actions without producing any written authority, order, or instrument authorising continued engagement.
