Kia ora TracyThank you for your email of 24 October 2025. You have asked for information that is being considered as part of your current OIA request. We are still working through your request. Please note that we will do our best to respond to your request as soon as we can.We would also like to let you know that part of your request as currently framed will be very difficult to meet without substantial collation or research. Locating and reviewing all historical insurance policies would require considerable time and resources and have an unreasonable impact on the agency’s ability to carry out its other operations.Unless your request is amended, we may have to refuse it under section 18(f) of the OIA, which applies where the information cannot be made available without substantial collation or research.You may wish to consider narrowing the timeframe of your request to:Copies of all insurance policies held by Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) (or on its behalf by Treasury / Marsh), held currently and for the past five years that provide cover for:
– Errors & omissions, negligence, or wrongful acts of officers;
– Fiduciary breach or failure of duty by registrars, managers, or staff;
– Professional indemnity and directors’/officers’ liability;
– Any related reinsurance or delegated underwriting authority agreements with Lloyd’s of London or other insurers.Please let us know before 31 October 2025 whether you are prepared to amend or clarify your request.Jean McDowallSenior Advisor, Official Correspondence
